Sudbury to the Sea-(S2C)
S2C is an annual event organised and promoted by the River Stour Trust.
The event is both a fundraising event and an opportunity to travel the whole length of the freshwater Stour from Sudbury to the Cattawade barrier about 2 miles beyond the historic river setting of Flatford. Famous for the constable painting "The Haywain".
The trip is completed over 2 days with paddlers normally camping overnight at Wissington.
The 2006 event attracted over 120 craft (mostly canoes and kayaks) and 195 paddlers. Many craft being the open canadian type boats with 2 or sometimes 3 paddlers.
The date for the 2007 S2C has been set as the 15 and 16th of September.
Entry prices is £10.00 per craft.
The organisers would like to thank the Marshals and helpers for the efforts they put in to make the 2006 event the success it was and ask for volunteer helpers again for next years event. Details.
